The new rugged MicroTCA specification MicroTCA.1 for air-cooled high-speed systems was adopted in the spring of 2009 under the direction of PICMG, an international standards organization. Schroff is responsible for the mechanical section of this specification and now presents the world's first comprehensive AdvancedMC and MicroTCA product range for MicroTCA.0 and MicroTCA.1.MicroTCA.0 is the base specification for racks and systems designed to accommodate standard AdvancedMC modules. A minor modification to the faceplate of the module is all that will be required to enable existing MicroTCA.0 systems to tolerate higher mechanical and climatic shock and vibration (the modification is described in the MicroTCA.1 specification).
